Voted best overall white at the 2021 Ballarat Wine Show, Ian and his team have produced an elegant wine that truly depicts the Ballarat Terroir. Ians whites have always been a stand out in Ballarat and all around the state however the 2019 vintage could be his best yet. Matured in new and old French oak barriques the wine exhibits balance, complex middle palate and sustained length of flavour. Awarded 96 points and top gold of the show this wine will not disappoint. Drinking beautifully now and for many years to come. The vineyard is planted in the Burgundian mode, 1mx1.2m grid and low-trellised, and is still, by necessity, hand-pruned, hand-sprayed and hand-picked. Amazingly enough Ballarat doesn’t class as a wine region but it gives many people in the district great joy to see a wine from Ballarat be awarded such a prestigious trophy.
